My stock speaker brackets are to small for my new rainbow comps. They are not deep enough but they will fit in there. I was thinking about just breaking the back off of them so I can just slide the speakers in there is that ok or do I need brackets with a back on them?

also is it ok to take the plastic off the tweets (Like hte outter casing so it fits into the stock brackets. I cant seem to figure out how to get the grill over them off though

I got the tweeter problem solved basically ill just mount them on my dash on top of the hole but I need to know if its ok to break the back off these mounting brackets

screw it im just going to order some new ones on sonicelectronic or something i broke the back off and da shit still dont fit

I hope your 3,276 posts weren't trying to help people.
Wtf im not some pro audio installer here

Still consider my self pretty much a noob. I know pretty much about sub and amp install now but this is my first time doing speakers.

He is right though. In another thread, wasn't it you that thought one of your rainbows got a hole in its surround? You pretty much acted like it was done in shipping when it looked like nothing of the sort, and now you're asking about taking the back of a speaker off? I honestly dont understand what you're talking about at all. Also are you installing those speakers with the hole in it?

Outrageous

You obviously didnt read the last thread, I was just asking if I should keep them and patch them up or let the seller file a ups claim cause thats how they showed up....so either he lied or they were damaged in shipping. I just got finished taking them out of the box when I made that thread.

And you obviously did not read this thread either because I said speaker BRACKET that was built into the car.
