need help installing cdt's.

im installing the cdts in my 2k2 maxima. they are too big but i used a 1" spacer and t he magnet still touches the back of the door, which is metal and causes my system to not work. any ideas on how to stop this? i thought about putting a towel behind the speaker.

wow, i thought for sure 1" would be fine but u may want a thicker spacer or make a custom one cause doesn't the window get in the way when it's rolled down too?

i'll probably soon be going through what ur going through now though after this u'll have learned quite a bit more

oh man, i didnt even think about that. ****. these speakers are too big. i hope the tweeters even fit my car. im gonna install those tonight. hey do u know if the stock non-bose hu in a 2k2 has 6 channels, or does it have a crossover behind the h/u?

Did you try taking the rubber boot off the CDTs magnet? That will give you a little extra space. That's what I had to do to get mine in.

i left that boot on and barely got them in. they sound great... even off my stock h/u. i cant wait to install my pioneer 8500 mp.
