need help for my SQ build

ok ill slowly piece together my system //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

HU: Alpine CDA-9887

processor: Alpine PXA-H701

and will update more when I know more these are what i see best fit as of now

active means an amp for each piece of equipement. no passive crossovers.
So the crossover will be external or built into the head unit and send a signal to each amp, then each amp will send its signal to just mids or just tweats
Wrong. Each speaker has it's own amp channel, not entire amp unless you have 2 2-channel amps. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

You're going to either have to get a RUX-C701 to control the processor or get an Alpine multimedia unit that can control it.

The combo of choice is a iva-w205/iva-w200 & h701. You can also use other alpine mm units such as:

d300

d310

d105

d106

just found out that their is no kick panel made for the evo //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif if their is i cant find it

If you can fit a 9887 you can fit a d310, d300, d100, d105. They're single din units.
ok cool what one would you reccomend? D310? or is their a processor that can use the 9887.. i ask because i live in LA and peoples stuff gets jacked all the time dont think any of thoes have any type of security //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Let me be the first to welcome you to the forum.
About your install, do you plan to install everything yourself?

In my mind you can get an awesome sounding system by using either the stock locations or kickpanels. You just need to decide what you over all goal of your system is.

As far as head units go, I have to throw out my recommendation for the Pioneer Premier PRS880. For the price, you can not beat all of the features that you get in this unit and the SQ is great!

I would really just recommend that you read as much as you can in this forum and other's like it, and then go out and listen to as many of the speaker/ head units/amps that you can to find out what you like the sound of.

Just make sure to take some music you are really familiar with, and set all of the headunit EQ lvls to flat when doing your listening test.

Here is another great website to start out with...

Ditto! an I like boston pro's and I've heard good sound from MBQuart Reference line.

And of course Focal would do nicely!! I just feel that much money is not needed for good SQ. and with our weak a** dollar, there not getting any cheaper!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Would you feel comfortable building your own kick panels? I can walk you through the steps and they will be much nicer than the ones you can buy. For that matter you could mount them flat instead of angling them and there wouldn't be much work at all involved it it. Fiberglassing really isn't that hard. I actually enjoy it. Especially when someone sees your work and asks..."Where did you buy that?" and you get to say, "I MADE IT!"

yes I would be open to try to build themmyself.. only concern is i have no clue where to start //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif and on the driver side kick panel my foot is rested on the rest their if im not flying thru the gears //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/pullover.gif.ac2de04a20ebe8c72a715e86e00c8c0d.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/escape.gif.52b661afb17bde1db0e0c7da97e75b38.gif and im startin to think that a back filler isnt really needed.. guess i was just gonna be courtious to people in the back seat but what the hell ill never be back there so //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nutkick.gif.acc8dcd6c1bd27fba0cbeda5b212085c.gif

And for the fronts just do a DYI 3 way.. is that alpine processor the best? seems to be but waht do i know im just a nub

Just do a 4channel get some fronts and rears and call it a day. Look at my sig minus the subs for an awesome SQ setup.

Minus the subs because not many people can do a good job at building a proper sq box for th L7's.

whats the upgraded version of the kp2s? and whast the best amp? that US amps one that i linked above its almost 1000usd!

Upgraded Version have a newer/better tweeter and different cooling system. Amp wise there are a million and one options. Anything that will deliver 60-125watts rms would work fine. I'm not finding the US amps one you linked but I don't have a problem with any of their products. Great brand!

You're the only person I know who's running rears in a SQ setup. Not a single competitor I know of runs rears. SQ focuses on the front stage.

SQballin, go with the iva-d310 & h701 combo. Also, it's "D I Y", not "D Y I". //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
