I have a very small budget and trying to get the best bang for my buck. I was looking at maybe MB Quart or diamond audio, but im not sure what is quality and what is junk. I also was wondering if a cheap pair of components or a similarly priced pair of coaxials would be better. thanks

I would suggest spending most of your money on good componets up front with a nice amp to push them. The rears will get drowned out by your type-r anyways. As far as componets it kinda depends on your taste and what you like the sound of . You just want loud spl type stuff or you out for sound quality? Also have you heard any brands that you like. Most people are out for midbass and as far as the tweets this varies by person, some want a more mellow and natural sound and some want it bright sounding like myself.

i guess i should check out some other people's speakers next time im at car show to see what i like. i currently run a KAC-6404 40x4 amp, but i want to switch it for a older hifonics zx6400 to match my hifonics hercules. i like a 50/50 split between sq and spl.

hifonics is def not for sound quality.I like boston acoustic, personally. But i really want to hear some hybrids cause they h\ave been winning lots of awards and they have really good reviews.Check out websites like sonic and woofers. mb quart makes good amps in the onyx discuss or above . But i would go with other speakers than theirs. Mb quart, hiffonics, autotek, and crunch are all the same company fyi and mb quart is the best stuff they have.

Here is my thought, theory. Those speakers are 80w rms. Half of that is 40w rms. Add the 40 to the 80 and you get 120w. Get an amp that is 120w...
