this started just yesterday when i took the rca's for the subwoofers off the headunit and put it back again, i guess i pulled it too hard.

my head unit: alpine 9887

my rca's: knu krystal (smoked) rca's, which locks to the rca plug when pushed in.

well, when i play some music i notice that my bass drops down randomly, i tried plugging it in on the front L and R rca outputs and it does the same thing.

i also tried using different rca's, and using my ipod and a cd, it still does the same thing.

I had the same issue yesterday. Looked over everything, and found it to be a loose connection with one of the rca's. You replaced rca's, so try a diff head unit if you got one.

i'm thinking its my headunit too, i'll try another one if i had the chance..

looks like i might need to exchange my headunit ifever, good thing i bought it from crutchfield.

i actually had the same problem the other day, only happened once in the mornin on my way to work ..... redid my ground and hasnt happened again
its not my grounds im 100% sure of that.

if you said u plugged in ur ipod.. did u mean to ur head unit or directly to the amp?
plugged in the headunit.

I think your right about it being your headunit. You seem to have checked everything else it could possibly be.. Do that and update us! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i'll try to plug my rca from my headunit to my friends amps and see if it does it there.

thats easier to do than replacing my headunit.

if it still drops down then i'm 100% sure its my headunit

well its not my headunit, found out it was my bass knob.is replacing the bass knob the only solution to this?
sorry just want to pop a quick question in im a noob with car audio.. is the bass knob just the knob you turn to adjust the bass?
