need computer help!

that should be changed from the start, most bios have the boot order floppy/cdrom/hard drive

that should be changed to hard drive first and then nothing, then windows will load faster

only need the pc to seek the floppy or cdrom if you need to install something before the OS

Indeed, but i doubt he was savvy enough to change that when he asked if needed to buy a new HDD or if a computer guy could fix this for him.

I'm betting he never touched the boot order.

ya doubt it as well, it only saves a few seconds, but might as well do it

if the reboot happens that soon, before even the OS is booting up, that is either ram, cpu or power supply from my experience and im gonna go with the ram

even with a virus he should be able to boot into safe mode

figuring out what is wrong is a different thing all together, he should sell it to me cheap

LOL just thought of something

he is probably swapping his ram around while wearing nice fuzzy slippers or socks on his carpeted floor

probably should have described the effects of static on electronics before he opened up the computer

I have never paid much attention to that and have yet to destroy any comp parts.

I thought he was able to boot into windows, that's i i figured it was viri.
