Need comps that can take 200watts rms and under $300

I have personally never heard the Crystal SSCS6's but people on the board seem to like them alot. The SSCS6's will supposedly laugh at 200rms and sound really good doing it. Oh, and they are only $160.

A way you can view it is like this: You can have a set of comps that can take a maximum (peak) of 200, and use those, even though the rms says less.

The reasoning is you almost never even peak at your amps RMS while playing music, and I doubt you like listening to a 200 watt 1k Hz sine wave //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Your speakers will probably recieve only 125 RMS average on a 200 RMS channel, because of music dynamics.

Actual RMS power? 12W is more like it. It might peak in the 100W range and you will need to address excursion with a high pass filter but keep the amp from clipping by being conservative on the gain setting and your ears will bleed well before you blow a decent set of components with too much unclipped power.
