Tuner here-- New to audio, making custom fiberglass set-up need BEST 6x9, 6.5" units

ALright guys I'm a newb to audio. I'm an avid member on some other forums but they are performance oriented. I do motor swap and extensive tuning on my DSM (mitsubishi) so I'm kind of out of my element on here.. I have been doing custom fiberglass for almost 4 years now yet haven't come across any REAL, QUALITY compnents yet...

What are some good, quality speakers????

Basically I'm looking for the elite. I want to pull into shows and have some of the best. I love midrange, I added mold for an extra set of 6.5's, 5.25's, tweeters, and 6x9. I eventually will get a subwoofer, probably a nice 15" or 12".. But what do I know? You guys run shit around here so I'd like to hear what you guys recommend or think. I don't care if no one in the world has heard of the brand, as long as they're quality. I want to do this once and the right way.

So here's what I'm packing in the car(or atleast have molds for..)

* Set of 6x9's

* 2 sets of 6.5"

*2 sets of tweeters

*1 set of 5 1/4

*7" Kenwood monitor

* 6 gauges

*Custom molded I-pod housing

* Housing for fuel management unit (compatible with laptop... will need for tuning)

Here's a pics of the door panel. The clear you may see is a special lexan with anti-fade, anti-crack features. I am putting one of the cathodes behind it with a dispay featuring the brand of my speakers...

Here's a brief summary of the center console I'm building. This is JUST A SKELETON. It has yet to be fitted, fleeced, etc.. I will do a write-up on it in the future. Once I am done an get everything painted..

Like I said, I'm a big tuner guy and am new to audio. So any input or help would be great. If you guys need help with any glassing or set-up, let me know. I'd be willing to help...

If you want the best results as far as audio goes I'd recommend that you make a combination of door pods/kick panels if you can fit them in the car. Since you obviously know how to fiberglass that shouldn't be a problem. There should be a sticky thread somewhere on the forum that shows you how to do it easily. That will give you the best imaging. As for components, Rainbow makes good products. As for a subwoofer, look into FI audio.

 
why don't you do some more "motor swaping" and put a real motor in your dsm....throw that 420 in the garbage

yea you do good work but really cant call it a dsm judgeing by looks its a late 90s model and dsm stopped in what 94 or something but it still looks really good i only with i could do good work like that

 
if it was a gs-t/x i would call it a dsm...your car may very well be faster than a stock dsm, and i know it handles better than a 1g, but it's an rs...intended to get good gas milage and make chicks think daddy loves them, not go fast

Wow. That's extremely wrong. It's a genuine DSM. Trust me, it's badged all over my car. Please don't talking smack guys, I hear alot of shit from the 4g63 guys because it's a 420a. Yet I would whoop most of their ***** without effort..

BTW guys, IT's A 420A... BUT I TURBOCHARGED IT

I made a custom kit for it and rebuilt the internals. It's all blueprinted, balanced and ported.

I ran a 12.7 @ 18psi.

@ 8psi I dynoed 262 WHEEL HP

The motor can handle 30 pounds of boost...

24psi yielded 379WHP.

This car is serious. If you work the 420a right it can be seriously fast. Without the crankwalking 4g63's...

Just to give you an idea here... The 4g63 comes FROM THE FACTORY with 210HP @ 14psi.

I'm pushing almost 50 more HP at about half the boost level. You do the math.

BTW, thanks everyone for the compliments. It's nice to hear that after the work put into the car. I'm glad some of you like it..

OK so that's enough about my car. I am hoping to find some input on the speakers? I really need to finsih this project because I am in the middle of another...
