My buddy bought one 15" L5. Now he just needs to get a amp for it. The sub is dual 4 ohm so the amp needs to be 2 ohm stable. He only wants to spend around $150 for it though. Can anyone suggest an amp?

It's not 1500 watts, but the TXA-1000D is PROBABLY the closest he will find to 1500 watts. I just sold one for $160 shipped BNIB.

He can get the TXA-1000D for $199 shipped from the Cadence store.

Other than that, his best bet is to find something used, but he will probably be spending closer to $200-300

Yes. Give or take some. I was running a kx2500 on two 15" L5s before I got my L7s. Thats over 1200 watts each.

Just anywhere around the 1000-1500 range.

You could pick up a refurbished zx750.1 on ebay for around $200. I wouldn't put 1500w on that sub, I would even be a little worried to put 1000w on it.
