Need answers about Eclipse AVN6600

ok, i am on the verge of ordering one. I have only played with the 5435 and 7000 so I really want to know what other features are different beside the obvious listed features. and i would really like someone who owns the unit to answer these questions for certain cause ive heard mixed reports.

1. Does the nav system "track up" as you drive?

2. Does the nav system have an real 3D view (driver's view as pioneer calls it)

3. Does the iPod adapter play Video from an iPod Video?

4. Does it have time alignment other then the position setting?

5. Does it maintain full function of the iPod and Sirius when both units are hooked up together?

6. Does it play MP3 DVDs?

7. Is the bypass simply grounding the brake wire? does not include the speed sensor?

ok, i never saw those downloads. after reading it, ive found these answers:

1. Yes

2. No

3. Not listed but I once read someone did do it.

4. No

5. Nothing noted, but I have read of problems mostly based ont he 5500, but I wanted to make sure the 6600 did not have these problems. I know it has different controls.

6. Does not appear so, but I remember reading once that you could.

7. Obviously it will not say this

if someone can answer the questions 3, 5, 6, and 7 for sure that would be great. thanks

3 - I don't believe it will play video throught he ipod adapter, but I have never tried.

5 - yes

7- hook up VSS as directed, ground parking brake, you are good

are you not sure about 6 as well? 3 or 6 wont make me not want to get it, but it is just for my information. if anyone else can tell me, let me know. thanks

Oooh, I haven't tried DVD MP3's yet. Hey, let me burn a couple tracks to DVD and I will run down and try it out in about 10 mins or so, and then you will have a definate answer.

crap, oh well. i still think this with a small ipod is a better deal than the 5495. you think so?

I had the 5435 and returned it a couple days later. The 6600 is leaps and bounds better than that. I have never used the 5495, but the ipod on the 6600 is great and it has the most up to date nav disk/info Eclipse puts out.

I live in a newer area, and the 5435 Nav software didn't even have my street on it, and the house was built in 99 or so.

It's a good unit, and I don't think you will be dissappointed in it.

yeah im pretty sure im gunna get that and the eclipse 3 ways in the front. now i just have to figure out the rear, amps, and sub. im going to see what i can do about making an eclipse show car.

you can use the vtr input with the av kit for the ipod to play video and music but you wont see anything on screen when playing music.

good point. does the av kit use the headphone jack or the pc connection? if it uses the headphone jack then you could use the vtr for video and the ipc-106 for music without having to disconnect anything....maybe

They also sell them that goes through the pc connection, which is what i will end up doing since i have the 5500.

another question.

what is the deal with the new nav it has. i thought it was a little different than the 5435/5495 with the street map view and such. but according to eclipses website, street map only works 50 cities that are all in Cali, Michigan, Illinois, and NY. what about the rest of the world?

let me see some feedback on someone who has played with both and can tell me the difference for, say, Texas.
