Need an opinion

I just purchased 2 JL w3Vs2 with a 500/1 JL amp. I want to emphasis my low end bass this is the most important for me. Should I go with a ported or sealed box to you achieve this is there anything else I need to know as well? I heard this subs are overall pretty dam good on lows any advice.

I listen to all types of music but mostly rap hiphop and r and b. What should the big ported box be tuned too and what exactly is big. Any links or pics. my subs are 12 inch as well.
