Need Amp/Sub help!

I have a Rockford Fosgate Bd 1000 amp, it plays 1000 RMS at 2 ohms. Im looking into getting 2 12" RE audio SE subs that claim to be 600 rms so a total of 1200 rms. Do you think i will not have enough power or should i be fine to push them where they will sound good?

You should be fine. those rockfords are underrated by a tad, so it should be a close match. set your gains correctly and youll be fine.

as for gain, im new to tuning the system, how would i go about setting that?

Many will recommend purchasing a digital multimeter to set your gain levels correctly. Setting them by ear or just turning the knob may result in clipping.

get a digital multimeter, unhook your subs and stick the dmms neg a pos probes in the amps pos and neg speaker terminals. turn your hu 3/4 way up and play a 60hz test tone or something you normally play that has long steady bassline, and turn the gain until the dmm reads 44.7v thats the voltage you need for 1000rms into 2 ohms.

and i also have a bass nob what do i do with that?
