hi,

i'm a new member and live in uk and i'm planning to do a full system audio in my car. went to local car audio installer for some advice. i want spl and sq together. i know it sounds a bit strange...... he suggested using for full soundstream + alpine hu. i've never used soundstream before so i don't know about the sq and spl from it. i always used lanzar before and they give really good spl but i'm decided to try soundstream

so my setup is :

- alpine cda-9855r

- soundstream xstream xta 720.4

- soundstream xstream component speaker xsc.6

- 2 x soundstream xstream xs-12 ---> dual 4 ohm voice coil

what do you think about this setup, do i need capasitor farad to get more bass ?

i asked him if i need another 2 channel amp to run front component speaker and use the 4 channel one to bridge the subs and he said this amp will have enough power to run front speaker and 2 subs. by the way it's gonna be sealed box.

great website by the way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

thanks

you want more bass? as in your current system isnt cutting it? you definitely will not need a capacitor though.
yeah i need more bass but i don't want to ruin the sq as well. i haven't installed this systems yet as i'm not sure if i need to add amps or something to get spl and sq. is it possible to get spl and sq at the same time ?

thanks

It's definitly possible to get both SQ and SPL. I think I've heard it referred to as SQL?

I think you should run those subs in a sealed box for better SQ.

Yes, SQL. Honestly, I would say he is trying to push SS too hard on you. Before you commit and have him install xtreme comps and subs, ask to listen to other speakers he has in the store. Remember, just because it's a SS amp, doesn't mean it needs to be SS speakers.

Other than that, the sound stream amps are really nice. They are well built and give nice, clean power. I have two or three around my house.
