a couple of Critical Mass UL 12's sealed would be a pretty nice choice in SQ subs with clean bass and they only require 1.2 cu ft sealed each...in the hatch you have little space unless you plan on doing away with the back seat...

I'll sell you my Fi BL. It was in a ported box in my Celica, which is a hatchback, and it sounded pretty clean and got plenty loud for a single 15. Ask AQHDC3 up there.

I have a 91 hatchback too and i run a dd9512G and it gets crazy loud. Im changing my set up because i dont want to run 3 batteries in the trunk with that big amp and a big box with that 50 lb sub. Im going for more speed now and less weight is always better. You need to figure out what your price range is but if youre gonna do 2 of any of those subs above I would consider the kicker but if youre gonna upgrade think about how much space you want to give up and your budget. Remember the hatchback is not high all around. The height drops as you move towards the rear. I would consider some of the other subs mentioned above from these guys. Your fox will get loud easily because its a hatch.

And get you a nice mono amp that does around 750w at 2 ohms. Put it in a ported box around 2-2.5 cubes, sub up and port back. Should get PLENTY loud for a single 12.

Oh and another question should I get 4 ohm or 2 ohm? Sorry im pretty new to stereo stuff. I just remember that back 10 years ago sound stream and DD audio used to be my favorites
