Need a vented box design. Revised with correct dimentions!

Yep, the slants make it complicated, haha. hofulstrof should be back here any time with the correct volume though, I e mailed him the sketchup document.

so bad the scale was way off when you sent my the file i donno why . but basicly what i found was 2.16cf but thats based on the middle pice staying at a constant width and hight of 4.25 high and 16.5" wide

you have 2.13ft^3 net before sub and port..assuming 3/4" wood is used....

the mag displaces about .15ft^3..

so you are now at 1.98...(i'll get to the port in a minute)

a slot port will be hard to figure with that tuning/box side due to length. so i'd recommend 3 ports, 3" in diameter (inside). fire the sub up on the driver's side and the ports firing into the passanger side rear door. nice loading area and you avoid the rear seat mounting feet on the driver's side.

so, 3 ports, each 3" diameter x 35" long will give you a net box of ~1.4ft^3 tuned to 32hz....that's using schedule 40 pipe. if you use schedule 80, you'll get a bit more volume, and they'll proabably fit a touch easier. use liquid nails around them on the inside to keep them firmly planted.

btw, here's a nice port calculator to help you out. it's really close. if you decide to use a flared port, just plug in the inside dimension of the non flared part, then add an inch to compensate for the flared part.

You talking about putting these in the box mrray just said was 2 cubes after the sub/wood? If so your box is gonna be like 1.35-1.4 cubes net tuned to like 35, i think

even with the three 3" tubes, he's gonna be around 1.4 and 32..(which is what i figured)

but in any case, so close the ear won't be able to tell the difference.

the two 4" will offer more port area, but i don't think they'll fit thru the middle section. if they will, they are definitely the better choice. and don't forget, at 41" long, you're not leaving much room for sub clearance in a 53" long box and a 12" sub.....

Thanks for all the help Mrray, I'll let you know how it turns out and if I can use the 4" aeros.

your welcome..sorry it took so long to actually getting around to helping.

can't wait to hear how it sounds, the SI mag d2 is an awesome sub!

less..but like mentioned above, youhave to add an inch to compensate for the flare.

and you don't really need to be exact as far as the volume goes. 1.4 is so close to 1.5 you'll never hear the difference.

but the aeroports are actually the best option if they will fit!
