Well, I pretty much did not get the help I needed in my last thread, so I am starting a new one with the exact dimentions I have to work with, and if anyone can help me calculate the volume of this box, help me design a port, and tell me where the ports should go I would greatly appreciate it.

Here are the pictures/dimentions of all the space I have to work with in the back of my Extended cab Gmc Sierra under the bench.

I will be putting 1 Stereo Integrity Mag D2 12" Subwoofer firing upward into the seat, and I did leave enough room for the excursion of the woofer.

The box for one subwoofer will need to be 1.5 Cubic inches tuned to 32 Hz.

Mag Specs:

Re: 3.5 Ohms

Fs: 30.2

Le: 3.5 mH

Qms: 4.75

Qes: .45

Qts: .41

Cms: 121.59

Mms: 228 g

Vas: 39.71

Sd: 480 cm^2

Bl: 18.35

Spl: 85.74 dB

Dude...

mount your sub on the driver side firing up like you want.... then put two 3 inch elbow ports on the passenger side with the ends of the elbows inside the box faceing away from the sub... The elbows are about as equal to a 7" straight tube rather then if it were at a 90 degree angle as it is in the elbowe. so your tuning freq with the box that is on the top would be tuned to aprox 3.9 ft^3 tuned to about 32 hz.... Should do well. how does that sound?

JoelDirt:

I would actually preferr to use Stereo Integrity's reccommended 1.5 cubes tuned to 32Hz. And if possible I'd like to stay away from Pvc as I hear it causes port noise, so aero or slot port.

I calculated the total box volume as 3.0869 Cubic Feet. Does anyone get the same?

i'm getting 1.65 cubes before any displacement.

you can knock that down to around 1.55 cubes w/ sub displacement.

and port displacement will prolly take you to around 1.25 cubes

throw in some polyfil and you'll be fine
