I would like to get a good used amp that will do rated power... between 1200w and 1800w rms,

1 ohm stable is a must... I'd like to keep it under $200...

post or shoot me a pm if ya got something...

budgets low I know but please no boss, or wierd off brand stuff..

thanks...

need some advice... two 12" pioneers 1300watts 300rms. Will a kicker 250watt mono amp be good for those subs?
you just jacked my thread, lol but it all depends, it will be alright... but it wont slam, and if you got it in the trunk... you may just want to look for something a little bigger, a nice 500w, i got a kenwood 600w older one for sale cheap, 50 shipped, that little kicker is a good amp though...

more like 1000 maybe
What makes it "dirty"? I mean power is power isn't it and it does what it says CEA approved most of all the stuff people on here are drooling over can't even say that.

I'm just saying i don't understand how power can be Dirty as long as the voltages keep up?

It's a lovely thing called DISTORTION

i dont really know myself, distortion wise maybe? plus theres alot of threads[google] about them frying, and i plan on running 1ohm, so a amps got to be able to handle the stress, but ive seen alot of better amps in that price range[not new] but aq1200, jbl bp1200, xa1500, new us amps xt4000d....

Well I can't speak for everyone bit I myself have ran several audiopipe subs and amps currently own 2 3000d amps I have always been very satisfied with quality and sq of them as well as output and have never had anyone tell me it sounded distorted either idk I could just be less picky than some. I'll back AP all day but I admit there is better but bang for buck wise its certainly up there of your on a budget

I admit there interiors are not anything inpressive tho

We are NOT saying that these amps SOUND distorted... When SET UP & ADJUSTED PROPERLY it's never going to SOUND distorted, but when you are talking about ACTUAL RMS output at it's very lowest capable impedance from one of those amps under these ideal conditions when adjusted properly = They are NOT dishing out their RATED PEAK RMS output because of the fact that they are NOT CLEAN AMPS & as Impedance is lowered distortion increases... If you want to crank everything that AP amp has to offer @ full tilt I can guarantee you it won't be sounding so clean & clear

Isn't that with every amp though? I mean it's never good to have the gain all the way up. Sorry I am not trying to be argumentative

I have never clamped my ap3000 but I have clamped my t2000 at a little over 2500 RMS at 1 ohm and my ap hooked to the same set up at 3 ohms was louder and had better range

I'm simply saying that those amp DO MAKE the power, but It's NOT clean power... Look up their THD & Efficiency ratings... If you max out one of those AP's at it's lowest capable impedance - set with an o-scope, and put it next to a comparable rated DD, sundown, crescendo, Etc. also set properly on the SAME system... Which do you think will sound more accurate & clear? Not to mention LOUDER...

There's nothing wrong with an AP IMO if you are on a tight budget and don't like used amps, Build within your means... But you can't tell me that you can put one head to head with a high quality amp and get the same results... Same rated watts head to head a higher quality amp is always going to sound better and get louder... And do it reliably time and time again

The good thing on those AP is since they are so cheap you dont have to max it out for example apsm 1500 is around $125 if your looking for 1k or close to 1200watts you only have to spend $125, if you need 1700watts go for the apsm 2k which is still under $200 maybe around $189, I agree you will not get 2k out of the amp but you will defintiely get 1700w without maxing the amp.

Does this make sense?

another amp you may want to look at is the bamf 5500 will definitely make 2k and price is $229 at sonix new.

Yes most definitely I would always go bigger than needed when dealing with budget amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif... The lanzar opti's aren't too bad for the price either, .5 stable too
