need a new car

this summer i was in a car accident and totalled my car. while i was half dead in the hospital that night, they took my blood and i ended up with a dui (yes i know im retarded for drinking and driving). since i am in my second year of college, life without a car isn't going too well. i get my license back march 8th, and i had been planning to take out a loan to get an acura rsx by then. this weekend when i was talking it over with my mom, she said she thinks it would be stupid to take out a loan while im still in school if im not gonna put it towards school expenses. after this, she offered to buy my car when i need it and gave me a $7,000 maximum. the question i wanted to ask was, now that i can't get my beloved rsx, are there any suggestions for a car i can get for 7k or less thats still pretty cool and not something you see every single day like a cavalier or a civic? all serious suggestions are appreciated.

if you want an rsx, get a used rsx

can find them for just over $7k on ebaymotors.....so throw in some money of your own and get your car

I bought an A4 last year for $6500. I don't see a whole lot of Audis around here, so with wheels, tint, and no badges it looks like one of a kind! Quattro is super fun in the snow, and they're not very fast so you won't get yourself into any more trouble.

get a slow peice of shit for the next 3 years untill your rates go down, kid + not a slow car = very high insurance, my rates finnaly are down after 3 years shit sucks

insurance is not an issue because my parents have paid for their kids insurance until they are out of college. and i was looking into a 2006 rsx type-s, thats why it would have been around $20,000 or something. i looked at the 2002 base models and they still seem a little more pricey than what my mom will be comfortable with. i would add my own money as well but i don't really have any anymore. my parents wouldn't let me work this semester because they were worried (since i had a closed head brain injury) i wouldn't be able to focus enough and pass all of my classes.
