need a line driver...

what do you guys recommend? was going to go with the basic overdrive line driver. btw, i have a kenwood ddx-6017 (2V outs) and need to up them in order to use the ma audio hk4000d that i just bought off of scottie.
no you don't. I'd be shocked if the amp's sensitivity can't take less than 2v.

so i dont need a line driver?
do you know the amp's input sensitivity range? it's in the manual and usually on the amp. Most any amp I've seen starts out at .X and goes to Yv. like .2v - 8v. Amp gains are to adjust for different input voltages yeilding the proper output voltage.

If your 2v outputs fall in that range, you don't need a line driver.

Competitors with multiple amps use them so they don't have to adjust all the amp gains individually.

actually, the example you gave of .2-8V is exactly what the range is. so my 2V output is in that range. will i get more power out of the amp if i do get a line driver and up my output to 8V?

i would love to get one, but i dont have the $1500 to spend on it lol. i need to finish my system and then save up for a cruise in march. so funds are extrememly limited.

i dont know if i do, but others think i do. i dont have anything installed yet in my new system, so idk if there are going to be any problems,.
you don't need one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif you set your gains to match the voltage from your headunit and it won't be louder or sound better with higher voltage

simply put, that's what the gains are for. Adjusting for different input voltages.
