the boiling wat thing sounds like a good idea, im only really worried about the blacker and catcher becasue i have games sunday nights and then wqhen i come home take a shower and go to bed, i can still smell it monday morning. thanksI'm more butterfly, but I still have some hybrid in me...I'll whip out a padstack every once in a while.
As far as the smell...I threw the Brown C/A I got in the washer, put it on cold water w/ just detergent, and hung it out to dry afterwards. The hockey smell was gone.
For C/A, pants, jock you can throw them in the washer, as long as your washing machine doesn't have an agitator in the middle of it (this will most likely damage the equipment).
As for gloves, pour boiling water through them a few times and hang them out to dry.
For leg pads, you could probably pour boiling water in the leg channel, but I'm not sure about that one.
The boiling water kills the bacteria that sits in the equipment, which causes it to smell bad.
I usually take my equipment and let it dry out the day after games.
oh and i do take my stuff outta the bag everytime in the garage......hahaha my friends DO NOT want to go in there, its accually pretty funny:fro:
