I have a 2003 ford explorer, and I'm looking for some frontstage. So far I've been looking into these: Diamond D6, Kicker RS and Alpine Type X. Which one would you chose. Also When I wet to crutchfield and did the whole fit my car thing it said I could only fit 5 1/4 and 6x8. Is there any way around that?

well someone is gonna tell you eventually, so i might as well tell you..

RAINBOWS //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif .. if you can get 6.5's in there ..

I think a 5.25' component system would be fine... but what is popular is to cut a bigger hole with tin-snips, make a 1/4" mdf baffle to cover the goofy hole, and put 6.5" components in there.

The Alpines you listed are very good... others to look at in that price range would be PPI DCX-525S/DCX-650S (if you can still find them), MTX TXC5.1/6.1, or the new Pioneer Premiere TS-C520PRS/TS-C720PRS.
