Need a good online game to play

I need a good online game to play. Looking for something along the lines of Total Annihilation or Command and Conquer. Basically an army build up fighting game. Want something to play online against other people so a large user base would be nice. Also I'm on a laptop so something that wouldn't lag would be good too.
