Dude HL2 friggin rocks... you can move just about anything... graphics are Friggin rediculous.. but demand alot from you GPU... I usually play Counter-strike source which is fun but i think they made the guns too acurate.. i would love to see somebody run around a corner and hit a target at 100m 3 time with the weapon on 3 round burst. and do it consistantly... but of course it's a game so i deal with it.

yeah i was thinking about gettin HL2 just to get counterstrike, i hated half life, but loved counterstrike

You better have a good computer though cuz my roomate has a friggin super computer and he still has to turn down alot of the settings... especially water effects... and he has the newest Graphics car which cost him 800 bucks alone... My poor laptop bout burns up whenever i run it though i get about 50 to 79 FPS at 1920 x 1200 but that is with alot of setings turned down... if i turn them up my FPS drops to about 7 to 12 FPS.

IMO well worth it because i plaid it a lot... very fun once u learn the tricks

World of Warcraft, HL2, Counterstrike:CS(bundled with HL2), Doom 3, Command and Conquer Generals(both additions), Umm thats it that I can think of unless you like MMoRPGs.

Dfinately a good game, I got addicted to it over the summer now i dont play it too often. Getting higher honor is a biach though, took me forever to get to 31

Half Life 2 is sick. Get Doom 3, dl it, if you like first person shooters without much strategy. Command and Conquer generals is a realll fun game.

Playing at that resolution is just retarded...Why dont you play it at 1024x768 with high settings, it will look much better. But other than that, HL2 was too short, imo.

Got bored with Doom 3 fast. Nice visuals but really repeatative gameplay. Half-Life 2 however rocked to no end. Played it twice on it's hardest setting before I got rid of it. Despite what's been said it plays very well on lower end PC's My Bro-in-law has an old 650 Athlon with a Radeon 9000 and it played without stutter on his (turned down of course). I have a 2600+ w/ Radeon 9700 and I had almost every setting maxed. Had some stutters but not many (can't give up my visual quality!).

Call of Duty and it's add-on are both enjoyable.

The original Dues Ex is probably the best RTS I have ever played, the sequel however didn't do anything for me.

Far Cry is an awesome game and a sleeper hit, but also demanding on a PC.

If I was still gaming I'd be looking forward to Ghost Recon 2 and Splinter Cell 3.
