Need a 10" for a small ported box

Just trying to get some different opinions of a 10" sub for a small (1-1.8 cubes total) ported enclosure. Two/three 8" subs is another option I can work with do to my size constraints. My amp puts out 600w at 2ohms. I would prefer to not spend more the $200 but I can dig deeper if necessary. I'm looking for a 60spl/40sq split.

So far after doing some reading it seems that the re se, l7, ID10 v.3 d4, and ss rl-i would all be valid options. However I see some members running these subs in 2 cubes ported which is more room then I can afford currently. Would I still maintain similar efficiency? running the sub in a smaller ported enclosure?

Would two or three 8" subs (ported, sealed) be more appropriate to satisfy what I'm looking for? Yes I want my system to pound but I would also like my bass to be accurate as well. I apologize for another help my choose a sub thread however my current resources don't know what they're talking about. This is after reading quite a few threads here and listening to their opinions on what I should run for my setup. Anyway, thanks in advance to whomever would like to share some knowledge with me.

i am thinking about a treo ssi 10". i am giving each of mine 500 watts and they sound great for being under the back seat of my truck. 1.8 cubes i think would be big enough for a ported enclosure too.

sound like a broken record here...

ALpine Type R 10 - thats one mean little woofer! Throw approx 800-1000 watts at it and watch out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

an mtx thunder 8000 10" 400w rms 800max(can get them cheap right now)

put it in a ported 1.8 cubic foot enclosure tuned to 36,

its comparable to some more expesive 10"s i know of that take about .5-1 more cubic feet to reach the same results

they are sellin them everywhere online for like $80 or somthing, used to be a $200 woofer until they made there new style, now they are just gettin rid of tem for cheap

Another good option, I was looking at it previously as well. But as I said earlier, I only have 600 rms to throw at it. Will it still perform adequately with that type of power in a ported box?

I'm not currently a huge mtx sub fan. Although after looking at the price they're going for on ebay I may have to change my tune. I'm gonna take a stop by the shop and have a listen after work.

Diamond Audio M6Can do 500-800 watts daily, around $160shipped on ebay for a new one...

also, VERY LITTLE SPACE REQUIRED!
Thats a sweet looking lil sub. What would be a good reccommended ported enclosure for those badboys?

Anyone have any experience with a 10" L7 in a ported box. I heard they had excellent spl and pretty decent sq. I was wondering if they performed well in a small sealed enclosure (1.5-1.8)? Plus they can be had cheap on ebay. I'm going to take a listen to these later today and compare them to the type-r's.

lol definitely //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif R's are effeciant, and still handle power - heck of a woof!

RE SE 10 is perfect for that set-up. They are dual 4 ohm and are 600watts RMS with 20mm of Xmax. I had the 12 inch SE and it was great.
with 600 actual watts the SE 10 is crying... it will *barely* handle that power.

The R laffs at it, and asks for more, while still getting louder than the SE and sounding just as good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

incorrect... i had an alpine type r 12 and i couldn't even hear it in a small box... go SE if you want loud.... se's can handle 800 daily, i don't know wut ur talking about
