Need your advice. Helping my son build a box to go under the rear truck seat in an extended cab Silverado. Plan to install four JL 10W3V3-4's in a divided 3-cube sealed box with the JL's facing forward. We lifted the seat about 3".
The speakers are already purchased. I can wire them in series up to 8 ohms and back into 4 ohms into a single channel class D (preferred). Or I can wire them in pairs to 2 ohms into a 2-channel class D. I really don't want to go down to 1 ohm. This is not an SPL build. We'll do something ported and nasty on the next build. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Looking for SQ in this set-up.
So I need 2000 watts rms at 4 ohms. Or 1000Wx2 at 2 ohms. Want to keep a high damping factor. JL 1000/1 is an option, but I'd only get 250w rms each at 4 ohms.
Being a noob, I just don't know all the options out there. Can you guys give me some advice? Thanks. By the way, budget is $500 or less and I'm not afraid of buying used if I can get some confidence about an amp's prior use.
