need 2 new 15 subs

anyone have some suggestions for 2 new 15" subs? i blew my old ones, cheapy pyramids i got for xmas lol. the bass was only set 50-75% when i blew them. they were 800w max each. my amp is 1200w.

im lookin at someone good but cheap. around 100-150 for each speaker is good i think. leave some links!!!

two atlas 15's will run a little over 150 shipped each. bout 300somthing for the pair. or a pair of 15" soundsplinter RL-i's would do nice too.

if you can find them. and the lowest you could go is 2ohm (dvc8) so getting an 800w amp @2ohm is no fun.

thnx for the links. i will look into those. my dad is trying to talk me ino buying to jl's, but i dont wanna spend 600$ on speakers. im sure anything is better than the pyramids i had.

JL's are good subs, but you'll find much better speakers for the same price as their lower end ones, which it appears you're looking at (W0, W3).

They don't have 15's in the rl-i do they?

and JLW0 is the lowest end JL sub. id imagine they would be level with the RE RE series. id never by a W0 - ever. specially for the high freggin price they charge too!

get a pair of atlas' for 300 and show your dad that there is better out there than JL for your money!

i'm waiting for that to be proven. not that i dont think it can be done. but when speakerman (mark) was testing, i believe the cvr's weren't that far behind SX's spl wise. and that was just drop in. imagine if he had tweaked as much as he had with his strokers.

In a typical install, there is no comparison between the drivers...the SX is obscene amounts louder.

I've heard both in a few different boxes and they're not on the same level to be compared, just not fair in terms of output....at all.

Your gain and your bass boost where the ones that kill your "crappy pyramids" as you call them, so be careful with those two and your new subs.
