Need 12 Inch SQ Sub To Replace BA G3

The old nomex ED type A's I believe, were great haven't heard anything else from them and now that they are gone not sure I want one anything else from them. The other subs mentioned I have no clue about.

So....Just on pure SQ, not SPL, the best sounding.....Dayton HO, JBL GTi, IDQ or SSA GCON/ICON?

My brother in law has a Oz Audio Matrix Elite 12 BNIB that he wants to get rid of I can find out what he would want for it. He had 2 in his SQ set up and this was a extra back up.

ive debated buyuing these several times. always back out
dayton is supposed to be good, idq v2 or v3, idmax (never ran one off that little power but people say its fine), w6

probably wont go wrong with any of yoru choices. not saying theyre all equal, just feel that they would probably all satisfy you
amazing sq on the mb quart. at the time i was looking for more output but its def a sq oriented sub woofer that can hit all the notes and top notch build quality. i really liked it and for the price point it is one of the best deals, as long as your not trying to hit 150 etc lol

Yeah the price point was really attractive. I think I've seen them even lower before from woofers. Oh well, maybe next time. Though I really want to try out the Dayton next as well

Right now I am in between the Dayton HO and the JBL GTi. I am leaning GTi, but I am just wondering if it's overkill for me. I will only be giving it 500 watts, and even then I probably won't be cranking it that much. I am just worried that with the excursion and spl limits on the Dayton, it will hold me back, so maybe too much is better than not enough?

Well while I wait for the used 12 GTi, still no tracking number and maybe no sale, I was wondering if I should just step it up to a 15 gti ? I see just about no matter what size they are generally around the same price new. I could spare the size but only in a 1.5 cu ft sealed box, no more. Is the 15 gti an improvement or some other 15 inch would be better?

PWE 352 MB Quart 15" 1600W 2 Ohm DVC Subwoofer Speaker Made by Rockford Fosgate | eBay
amazing deal on a 15 sealed 1.5 cube sealed and amazing sq built by fosgate years ago
I am even thinking about getting one of these and using it in a 15" enclosure and comparing it to the 12 GTi, if I ever get it. I am sure the GTi will destroy it in SPL, but I wonder on SQ how the PWE will do? I am just worried the PWE won't get too loud and put out much pressure. The XMAX is only like 8mm.

Based on comments from people who heard both, the JBL is probably better. If you can afford it, that's the subwoofer to have. Super low inductance, good sensitivity, high power handling, good xmax, and one of the meanest looking baskets in business. HO is a bit over-hyped IMO. Probably good for the money and when you need to save box space, but many people who did A/B comparison of it and one of JL W6, Boston G5, IDQv3 liked the later better.
