Nav Problem

I had a AVN 6600 installed in my Chevy HHR.... I have a problem with the position icon freezing up below 25MPH. The installer and Eclipse believe that the speed sensing signal is too great where they have tapped in.

Any Idea's?

What will happed if I don't hook the speed sensing up at all?

I dont have vss hooked up and the only thing ive noticed is every once in a while itll pop up on the screen and say check speed pulse. Everything else is dead on as far as accuracy with the gps

nope mine works flawlessly at all speeds..also even without the vss hooked up mine still is exact in telling me my speed in the system check screen

That's amazing, mine is giving me problems with it hooked up!

Do you have the exact same model, AVN6600?

yep with the version 2.0 disc. It has worked great for me so far. Where is your antenna mounted. When you go into system check and are going under 25 does it give you an accurate reading. and are all the gps icons lit up telling you you have a full gps signal.

My antenna is mounted on the roof of my HHR, shouldn't be a problem. I haven't noticed a GPS the GPS Icons, I will look for them when I go out to my car. I have looked at the speed and it is accurate but I will deliberately go below 25 MPH and check it out.

Where are the GPS ICONS displayed? Are they on the standard nav screen or do I need to go into the menu?

go into system check and there is like 4 icons i think and if it at full strenght they will all be lit up...i doubt it will be gps reception problem the only time i havent had full reception was in chicago around tall buildings.

I dunno then man i would try unhooking vss all together and see if that works. If not id return the unit if you can still.

That's the next step. We are going to unhook the SS from the unit on Sat. , if it doesn't work, I am going to have them switch the unit out. Thanks for the help!
