Nas Killed Hip Hop!!!!

Nas isn't the best Hip Hop artist... but he's the best one around now. Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy, all of those other people have no clue what Hip Hop is... when I tell people I like Hip Hop, they say "You mean like T.I. and Lil' Wayne?" They're modern-pop bull.

Nas said "Hip Hop" is dead, because it is. There are no more M.C.'s, there are just producers and perpetrators. Hip Hop has been dead since the '90's.

Hip Hop is not dead it has just evolved. Just like Elvis hated the Beatles for turning his music into something else and as I am sure the Beatles felt likewise when say I dunno (speculation here) Zeppelin came along. Pioneers such as Nas will always feel that newcomers have created a bastard out of their art. But heres the thing music needs change otherwise it becomes stagnant. I agree most mainstream music is awful but you have to take it in context and understand why it is the way it is. I used to refuse to listen to any beat that wasn't a sample sort of beat (basically I only liked beats made with an MPC) but soon I realized that keyboard beats tend to be more fun and easier to party to. Rap right now is going through the same thing Rock went through in the 80s. Dudes dressing like girls wearing mad jewelry and singing about money and *****es. Its a phase guys itll be ok. I think you should accept it for how it is, dig deep, and find the good ish, because almost every rapper will have at least one or two good songs.

P.S. check out Kid Cudi this dude is makin moves

Sorry about the long spiel.

not soulja boy

Like I said I use to defend soulja boy saying he is just a kid but the reality is talent is talent reguardless of age. Hell ll cool j got singed at 17 and his first album is a hip. Hop classic. Nas, mobb deep. Raekwon were signed young and illmatic as well as cuban links and the infamous are hip hop classics and those guys were between 17-20 yrs old at the time. What also gets me is when this kid says lil wayne sh*ts on Nas. Wtf? If you haven't seen the video check it out. It's obsured the crap this kid spews.

his age has nothing to do with how much he sucks, its mostly his lack of mental capacity and liking of men.

there are still great Mc's in the game now..the thing is that hip hop to us is just music..hip hop to the artist is how they earn their money...if they dont sell, or dont get many chances to book shows..they dont eat..their families dont eat..so a lot of times when someone see an artist like lil wayne selling so much and booking all these shows...as an artist like Jadakiss wich is in my opinion the best out will consider trying to take little things here and there from an artist like lil wayne...and thats when we have everybody rapping the same..saying the same shit...using the tpain autotune all the time..its all the same sounds because they trying to get money..you listen to the dude plies not a talented dude..but if you listen..ALL his singles is dedicated to the chicks and a dude singing on the hook..it worked with "shorty" ft tpain and every since then, thats all he done..so its basically that all these artist are trying to get money..its just hard to get money without repeating the same shit..

I agree with most of what you saying but hell Nas said hip hop needs acts like soulja boy to keep the game balanced. I admit I wished rap would go back to the late 80's and the early to mid 90's. If I don't like something I know how to not partake in that. That's why I don't listen to the radio

Definitely soulja boy has his place. I mean even if he gets a couple of 13 year olds to start digging for other shit its a good thing. And Nas definitely realizes that he brings (brought more like it) hype to the game. Radio blows I can barely even listen to satellite now. Blogs are the only way to go these days.

as much as i dont like SB his music is a part of hip hop, dance was a part of hip hop, but i feel what most of the pioneers are saying with the BS songs not having structure or relevance. When i listen to music i want to get something out of it. But i cant hate SB for what he have created, the more hate will make him better the attention will be there
