Ok soulja boy has a you tube video out saying that nas killed hip hop. "Wow"! On ocassion I have defended soulja boy saying his brand of bafoonery is an acquired taste. Rap was getting wack way before soulja boy. I know when nas publicly said hip hop was dead it ruffled a few feathers but what I took from that statement was the art form of being an mc has fallen to the wayside. Nas as well as many of the true hip hop heads just wanted rappers to step their game up. Nas is a pioneer in hip hop. I know to try and keep hip hop / rap in a box is doing the culture an injustice. it can't expand and grow if stiffled. Hip hop is more than just rap it's graffiti, dance, style

and etc. Nas never came out and disrespected the little dude so were the hell is this crap comming from? This kid has the nerve to compare nas to george bush? He said nas fd up hip hop just like GW fd up america? isoulja boy says he is the king of myspace and you tube. Lol! Wtf? When ice tea went at soulja boy I was disappointed cause ice tea is too old for tht shlt. I kinda felt sorry for the kid because everyone was comming at him and he never said anything about them. I agree music as a whole is azz. I have an eclectic taste in music. I give all generes a chance cause I love music. I am a old school music lover. I love vintage nirvana(b4 kurt cobain killed himself)

The who, Led zepplin, pink floyd, black sabbath, ac/dc. Kiss. The rolling stones. James brown, the temptations, muddy waters, eric clapton, earth wind and fire, parliment, big daddy kane, eric b & rakim, pete rock & cl smooth, naughty by nature and etc. All the acts I just mentioned brought something good to their respective generes. To have experinced this caliber of music and to hear soulja boy as well as a few others srcew it up is depressing.

Why would Nas even give two shits about what Soulja boy would say? Soulja is part of why Rap/hip hop, whatever you want to call the shit is dieing, hell been dieing. Shit sucks! Hiphop is still great. Just most of the mainstream stuff sucks. There are plenty of rappers who represent real hiphop they just aren't on the radio. There are a bunch of bad rappers but there are also a lot of really good ones. If you just go off the mainstream stuff then I can understand why people don't like hip hop and think it's dead. But there are too many good rappers out there to say hip hop as a whole **** or that it's dead.

Didn't Jay just spend millions on a marketing campaign for Nas's last cd in 08. Heard the CD was big flop and Jay's label has yet to reclaim their money or the advance he gave to NAS.

Honestly just not into rap anymore. I have listened to some underground rap and yeah some is OK, some is shit just like the mainstream crap.

To be fair, I really don't like any newer music anymore. I like older rock, some older alternative and older rap, late 80's, early 90's.

BlackStar- Definition(I believe that's what the '98 release is)

Biggie- Ready to Die
