Name Some Old School Equipment Game!

holy crap. 4X500?! at 4 OHMS?
was it overrated or what? ****. i cant imagine how big this must have been
Yup thats my unicorn..... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/inlove.gif.6846f78f06b405429ef3a00129788a2a.gif I'd have said it was under rated if anything. It was made when fosgate was full of enthusiasts instead of business model schemers.

This is a later model chrome one:

Ran 4 Power series 12's in a massive ported box in the back of my 89 Bronco. Bought the amp used for $100, replaced all internal fuses, voila, loudest car i've ever had. I had no clue how awesome that amplifier was until I got back into car audio 3 years ago.

Wish I still had it for my brahma //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
The Power 1000 was rated at 4x125 @ 4ohms not 4x500.......

Does anyone remember the Soundstream MC500....another beast of that era... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Oh man good call! Targa amps!!! Right on, I used to dig the purple swirl look on the last series they did. I had totally forgotten about them!

Also good call on mtx black gold subs and the amps they had also! When I was in high school, probably just 15 years old I remember looking at the mtx book I ordered in and drooling over those amps and subs... totally cool!

yeah I miss 50 pound amps that could keep you warm in the winter and shady in the summer time... amps so huge you had to install them long ways in the truck bed for they were to wide for the truck! Yeah now those were the days "caugh usamps vlx400" I love older equipments, everything I used was produced or made in the late 90's or year 2K. Only stuff I have new is the alpine amps I bought last year and they are decent amps and lots of features + look increadible "got them cheapo which is why I am useing them hehehe"

Anyways guess the short story is all these kids spending mega cash on the brand new latest and greatest ghetto 4K amp or double d 20" xmax subs need a kick in the head so that they can look behind them at some killer awsome equipment that can be had for very little coin.
