My sub keeps cutting out--need help!

I have a single 8" w3v3 (ported) hooked up to a slash 500/1

The sub will occasionally cut out and sop working. usually when using the bass boost knob.

I've got my amp slope on 12db with filter freq around 60-80 hz

input voltage is on low

infrasonic filter around 35 hz

Over the past couple of days Ive been adjusting the input sens while listening to it and messing with bass boost trying to get the right intensity. I havent been turning the sub up too loud or anything. Am I damaging the sub by messing with the settings while the sub is being powered, or maybe is my wire from amp to sub poor or loose?

I have a Jl slash v2 1000/1 that does the same thing when i have the Infrasonic filter on too. i was having a really hard time getting the settings right.. idk what the problem would be, does the amp work fine with that off? maybe we're just getting something wrong.. ive read the manual 50 times through making sure everything else was right too
