My return to the Car Audio scene

So the fact that their "4K" rated amp makes 4000W into 2 ohm and almost 8000W into 1 ohm doesn't count if Johnny Chucklefuck only gets 1500W driving it into 8 ohm?

Are you serious? WTF is even wrong with you?

That's funny. Show me one guy who has clamped over 4,000 watts while being wired to one ohm. I'll wait. Hurry up because I'm hungry.

But you’re saying the dyno’s aren’t real which is false. The dyno tells you what that amp puts out at the rated voltage and ohm load. It’s not on the manufacturer to determine your impedance rise to tell you what you’ll really see.

Show me one guy who has clamped over 4,000 watts @ 1 ohm with that SALT4. Not 8,000 which is ridiculous. Show me 4,000 watts clamped at one ohm in a vehicle not on a bench.

Dude that doesn’t matter. They produce an amp to put out 4K at 1 ohm. End of story. Impedance rise isn’t the manufacturers problem. That’s why everyone recommends doubling power right??

But you will never be at one ohm. Maybe I worded it wrong. The only chance that you have to see one ohm is if you wire it to .5 or lower. If you want 2,000 real World watts while wired to one ohm then this amp is a good choice.

Is it possible to run 4 dvc 1ohm subs at 1 ohm. i see wiring diagrams for .5 and 2 ohms.
Would the Salt 4 even push 4 sundown x 12's sufficiently? i see the salt 4 is 1 ohm stable but not .5 so id be stuck at 2 ohms which im not sure would be sufficient. looking for advice.

Welcome aboard. I don't know of anybody using audiocontrol branded amps, but they've always been a trustworthy brand so I'd have good expectations.

You might could check out the sales and closeouts over at CDT website on their components. I got some 3 way sets from them last summer on clearance and I'm pretty happy with them.

I am not so impressed with the Sundown X series subs, they're terribly inefficient, but the SALT amps are going to be about as good as you can get as far as Korean made half bridge.

Dyno numbers are a joke. It's not real World testing.
OK, I'll bite, under what conditions would you consider a 4000W rated amp to be an honestly rated 4000W amp and how do you do your "real" power testing?

Did you watch the video, that amp made just shy of 4000W into 2 ohm. And here we have some window licker saying that isn't real because it won't make 4K into 8 ohm on stock electrical.

Regardless of box impedance rise, whatever the subs are wired to while cones are at rest, the amp is gonna see that every single time the sub reaches that point in its stroke! Some amps are designed for this and ones that aren’t, you are playing with fire.
