My Rainbow Powerline CS 275.27 thread

also, if these rainbow power mids are anything like the profi vandium kicks i had, then it might take a while before they actually break in. it took my kicks a good 10-15 hours before they started to pound. just a thought before swapping out amps.

Looks great. So how to they sound? On a side note, you and I have the same car in the same color. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I need to get them tuned. I messed around with them last night a little but, had some friends from Tally come in and we had a few, so that didn't get done. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I need to modify the sails and cut the doors before I can give a good review. I can't really push them right now due to lack of power and the door panel issue. i can't believe how deep the mids are. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Chris, you could also just use knife inserts, this will Completely eliminate any contact between each ring. Alot of times if not predrilled the rings will make an attempt to seperate with large screws. It Will go through, but the attempt has been made thus potentially weakening the overall structure and opening you up for future possible seperation.
Although knowing you ...you wont wait to get the inserts. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I predrill everything. I know it takes some time, just something I am certain to do. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

What are knife inserts?

I am going to wait based upon not having funds for the new amp, but I do know I am under powering them. I am assuming that is what you meant? I want to see what they can really do with rated power. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You are barely warming them up with only 120w. They will still play, dont get me wrong, but the Powerline love Power. It does take a little while for them to really shine, but it also takes a good amount of power. Give them atleast 200w a side is my recommendation.

If I have my way, they will be getting a shade over 400/side. Just waiting on a seller to come through. I will have to wait and see how that pans out for me.

Nice install.

Everything looks a bit familiar, ill go out on a limb and say that door looks like it belongs to an 00-01 Maxima //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

Personally im running the Arc 2300SE to power mine (340ish rms X 2) and from what time ive had to play with them, I can say definitely go easy on the gains with 425 going to them.

Those mids will let you know the second you crank it up too loud, just trust me on that one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif The hardest thing you'll run across is the mids playing too low on certain songs, basically the mids will reach their limit before the volume for the vocals are high enough. You'll just need to keep tuning them until you can find a fine balance, regardless they can get **** loud and the lowes they kick out is IMO lower then advertised.

Those tweeters are //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/drool.gif.b5e863e893038027711d4402f340dad0.gif as well. Im sure you'll love those comps, just take your time getting them tuned in.

My car is an 01" SE. Good eye.

I wish I could shell out the cash for the 2300. I spent all my monies already. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I have them crossed at 80Hz right now. They pick up well below even after they have been crossed. There is a nasty low note in Betcha Can't Do It Like Me by D4L that they pick up. I am going to have to try and figure out how to get rid of that. I totally agree that the mids reach their limit before everything else does. Some more seat time should take car of that though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I am trying to get ahold of an ZX850.4, but maybe I should go with the smaller ZX650.4. The 850 will do 425x2. The 650 will do 325x2. Which one would you recommend for this set? I will drop my offer on the 850 if you think it is too much for the set.

You know my thoughts, but hardly listen anyway. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

How long until you get some power to them? I'm waiting on a price may use these in an active set up (or 6x9 subs with Germs playin mids). But these look like they could handle it all and I could keep a stock look.

(BTW Don you get my PM?)

First off, seems to me you have the specs backwards. Ignore peak, stick to RMS. Neither of them is going to do great at 60hz, that is really...
