My new wire!

[01 S 10 10+ year member]

I plan on running 1 sundown 1500 and a medium sized 4-channel. Im wondering if this wire is going to be enough:

Im using 2/0 cause I might upgrade to dual sundown 1500's or one very big amp in the future. Oh I'll be running 2 15" Fi SSD's for right now.

Any suggestions on which setup would be the loudest (SPL) in roughly a 7^ft3 box tuned somewhere between 32 and 35. ???

Also, Im having a hard time finding battery terminals and distrobution blocks that can handle wire of this size. any suggestions on where to find these accessories??

will this wire be ok for powering my whole system? Ive heard it is good to use for the Big 3, but havent seen anything about running it back to amps and stuff. It doesnt have a really high strand count like stinger and others, but I hope it will be ok. any opinions on this?

high strand count is for flexibility. You will get the same current through that wire.

Rockford has some 2/0 stuff available. Or, you could look up welding suppliers in your area and go there. It works fine, it just isn't as "pretty" as the car-specific stuff.

high strand count is for flexibility. You will get the same current through that wire.

I'm not going to debate the reason for more stands.

But... A conductor with many small strands of wire will carry more current than a same size conductor with fewer, larger diameter stands of wire.

Current flows on the surface, doesn't matter if it's a distribution block, terminal, or wire... current still flows just on the surface.

The conductor with many small strands will have quite a bit more surface area if you were to do the math and calculate the surface area of each strand and multiply that by the number of stands.

The larger strand wire, with fewer strands, will have far less total surface area. All of the material of the strand other than surface area does not conduct electricity.

Try again. DC vs AC. Very high freq AC flows on the surface. Audio range AC and DC use the whole conductor

Skin effect isn't an issue until you are well outside of the audio bandwidth.
