A few of you have checked out the chip amp build that I am in progress on, well in the next week I will be ordering in all my parts to build the ZD5 reference pair that was designed by Zaph.
To be honest, I am lazy and do not want to take the time to build a custom cab as zaph has a pretty strick requirement on width "must be 7 wide" Well after a discussion, I received his blessing of useing a .75qf MTM prefab dayton curved cabinet in piano black. It is .5" per side wider than the reference sealed design which is a small trade off to get away with an easy build. Usually I would go the easy way around things but the dayton cabs are very nice quality items so it will make my life easy. The sealed ZD5 design requires .5qf. The other .25qf left in the enclosure I will use for a crossover chamber & sand chamber. It will turn out to be a midtower so short stands will have to be made. This build is not cheap but will be worth every penny IMO.
I did a quick to scale visio frontal drawing of the layout. Anyways just wanted to get this up and posted. I will of course keep it updated as soon as parts start flowing in.
