My new CD has the shits

heh.
I bought this new CD - Prodigy's newest album, Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned.

Now it seems, that this CD has some kind of disagreement with my whole system.

The CD has done this straight out of the packaging.

At some beats, on a strong bass/treble hit (such as bass drum, snare, hi-hat, as well as cymbal all at once) my components make a really weird sound, about 2x as loud as the music. The exact sound is similar to a sound achieved while "scratching" on a record player.

The CD does not do it on my laptop, my home dvd player, my five-disk cd-changer on my room system, nor my sister's portable boombox.

however, if I put the CD into the laptop and then hook my AUX-connector (usually used for my MP3 player) it makes the weird noise.

Doesn't do it with any other CD. I'm confused.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

does it sound like someone scratching the top of a mic with their finger or rubbing a mic against their clothing or something?

sorta like a swooop or swoosh woosh sound?

my friends stock speakers in his explorer do that....

Yes- exactly like that.

At the same times on the same songs, about half the time. it's really random

The noise increases with volume.

I think I'm going to swap out amps and see if it does the same thing. That's tomorrow's chore

If any one else has any input that'd be great....

and i have tweeters!!

my friend said one of his co workers mentioned something about a wire that may be fried and at certain frequencies the wire is hitting the cone...

he really knows nothing about car audio tho and I havent had a chance to rip his doors off so i cant see if that is possible..

i wish someone would chime in so i could help him fix his problem also...

try cleaning the cd lense with a cleaning cd. dose the cd have a video on it or some thing like that? my friends cd player did that with enhanced cds that had vids on it and the lense was dirty so it wouldnt play the cd right.

not sure if it will work for you, but it worked for my friend. what happened was that the cd laser was dirty so it would shine on the cd wrong and hit some of the other stuff on the vids and it would try to read it so it messed up the audio.

oh yeah and if it dosnt work for some reason you could just do like my friend did and burn the track on to a cdr with out the other stuff and just brun the audio.

yeah i went to walmart just now and bought a lense cleaning disk - it didn't work so i was just about to do that same thing. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
