My new 18" 80lbs baby. 56k beware.

why would you drop cash like that into a driver with the sole purpose of tearing it to shreds?
if there were cash to be won in a comp (that would pay for a new = driver) maybe?

but in your own back yard to test a $2500 driver to destruction?

nuts.
I never saw where he said he was gonna test it until destruction.

Also, how do you buy Audio Pulse, I have yet to see a dealer list up on their site yet.

wow! that is one sexy looking sub, money very well spent in my opinion. Defiantly looking forward to the final install pics, and possible a vid? Also interested at what the db is on that sub. Nice choice, clean and sexy, could not ask for anything else.

Here is something that one of the TC/AP people had to say on another forum about this

Just want to point out some key differences between this and the older LMS-5400
this particular driver we made ahead of schedule. As already noted, the AP cones are not in, however the 18" Black TC cones are the same. Also, the mag boot is not in either. Beyond that, its the full LMS-Ultra.

The suspension has been substantially improved to increase its durability. The spider cloth is thicker and the phemolica glue in the spider are stiffer. We also increased the gauge in the leads to prevent them from heating up as much to prevent burn through.

We also changed the VC to improve the heat transfer from the coil. The LMS -Ultra can dump heat faster than the older LMS so it should be able to deal with compression better, not that the old LMS-5400 was a slouch.

One of the other major differences is every AP product comes with a full lifetime warranty. We wanted to make sure customers feel secure no matter what. I know there are a lot of trendy drivers that have NO warranty and we're really taking aggressive approach against the make-it-as-cheap-as-possible trends.

Anyway, we just opened up the AP forums too, we hope all the old TC customers come back and say hello or ask any questions you may have.

Thanks guys

thank you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I like it too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
That wasn't a compliment I just said it was expensive. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif:laugh:

they dont burn thru, they rip //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif Increasing the gauge of the wire was one of the first things Deon and I discussed about the spider defeciencies. From the start I was opposed to this in leiu of just putting on a non-woven tinsel lead spider as well as adding at least 2 more spiders. But in house off the shelf parts were more in the interest of TC to keep costs down. We've seen how those cost considerations have panned out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

let us know how it works out for ya. Take alot of pics of the spiders/woven leads after some extensive low feq testing (25-30hz) and see how it looks.
