To begin with...

I was going to compete USACi street beat this year, but then I enlisted.

The original scheduled ship date was in August.

They pushed it to the end of this year possibly early next year due to the program that I am in.

So... I decided to splurge. One of the main reasons why I wanted to try this... I was told that this sub would make the 18" ssx's and 9500's look bad.

I plan on doing a comparison vs a 18" treo ssx that a dealer/friend of mine has and am gonna see about a buddy of mine that has a 9518.

Testing would be done on a TL with similar power and on 30 secs of music.

The box for this is 8 cubes tuned to 30 Hz. Double baffled. Slot ported. and braced with 1/4" all thread on x and y planes.

First impressions...

-It is only a 2 spider setup. However, the spiders are very stiff. Good luck moving the cone very much it with just a few fingers and some decent pressure.

-I need to see what the coils sit at but it is a D2 sub and speaking to the engineer about for so long I was told that they sit at around 1.8 and typically in a 7 cube net box the rise isn't past 1 ohm too much.

-This is a beastly sub... makes my last sub (18" Treo SSX) look small... which isn't an easy thing to do for a nearly 50 lbs speaker.
