My mids are not as loud as I though......

Could the 8ga be bottlenecking his sound? I have 1/0 from the battery to the distro and then 4 ga coung to my amps, and 4 ga going into the grounds with 1/0 with a ring terminal at the grounding spot.

wow that wire is basically stock wiring it looks like basically like a 20 guage or worse

and also i almost bet they mixed the phase up as well if they were dumb enough to use that small of speaker wire

also did they wire up only one set of speakers or two sets if they did one set then apparently they didnt use the xover in the comp set

see unless you specified you wanted a certain gauge wire i really cant see where you could argue that. not using the ground wire you asked for, and then keeping it id have a problem with. should of been tuned. max setting on the gain is ridiculous. what kind of shop is this? i mean they should of known that wasnt right at all. were at least the crossovers set on the amps?

i know youve heard it but.....this is why we do it ourselves....if anything you should of just had them run the power, ground, and rca's. thats the hard part most of the time anyway.

1 set of components and 1 set of coaxials

what do u mean phase?

Thanks,

they are going to be surprised tomorrow when I walk in there and demand that they re-wire the car with new wire or threaten a chargeback

what gauge wire is good enough? 12gauge?

Thanks guys!

they see that Im not using junk stuff....be it that its not 24kw of ridiculous power but its decent stuff.....they could have asked...

id like to hear squeak comment on this one, or even helotaxi. they seem to be pretty knowledgable on the "science" of car audio if you will. i mean most of us can wire up a system but dont ask me to scientifically explain it......

like i said before its my understanding that the amp is going to draw the current it needs and therefore as long as the wire isnt melting or getting hot then its ok. i very well could be wrong though.

Never threaten a chargeback. Go in and tell them what the deal is and ask for your wire you purchased. If they cannot supply either, I'd do it then. But don't threaten someone that is about to work on your car.

I always tried to use the biggest that fits. I know people that use that cheap shit with no issues.

ahh ok, it is essentially stock wiring because that is spliced into the stock wires behind the HU!
what do you mean behind the HU? if all the speakers are amped then the only wires connected at the HU should be the power thats powering the HU. the rest of the wires are going straight from the amplifiers into the speakers. the only things connected to the HU are the remote wire and rca's

supply either what? the 7ft of 1/0ga knu wire they never gave back to me or??

what should the deal be?

thanks man!

he might be talking bout a loc if he doesnt have an aftermarket hu
no DDX 712, all the speaker wires had to meet up behind the HU for the old HU that was in place, my installer simply spliced into those....never wired the doors or anything

is that considered half ***?

i would simply go back and tell them the wiring they used is way too small and pos wire for the price you paid and tell them the wire you gave them for the install should have been used and not their cheaper wire and just tell them to fix what you want fixed

for that kind of money everything i want done better be correct or else

if i wasnt happy once i had the keys in my hand to listen to it i would of looked at everything before i left the shop if i wasnt happy and they said tough luck then i would of said tough luck getting paid and drove off lol
