You need good power and install to get really loud with the windows down. That is an incredibly high noise floor you are trying to play over.
I guess your right because for me it would be suicidal to listen at max volume with the windows up.You need good power and install to get really loud with the windows down. That is an incredibly high noise floor you are trying to play over.
have you played with the HP at all? try setting it lower and see what happens. as long as you have the comps hooked up to the passive crossovers you shouldnt damage them if you set it to low. its all about trial and error when it comes to tuning. ive spent hours and hours tuning ha ha.100 on the components and coaxials and either 100 or 80 for the sub, the amps hpf and lpf are set the same way
I really appreciate your genuine help. Now what do you mean passive? Is the HU passive or active?have you played with the HP at all? try setting it lower and see what happens. as long as you have the comps hooked up to the passive crossovers you shouldnt damage them if you set it to low. its all about trial and error when it comes to tuning. ive spent hours and hours tuning ha ha.
and my eclipse volume goes from 0- 70 or 80 (i forget exactly) but it doesnt even start to get audible till like 35 and is clean and clear till like 67.
Then I would say they are plenty loud. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifI guess your right because for me it would be suicidal to listen at max volume with the windows up.
the comp set should have external crossovers. the little plastic boxes the wires are connected between the speakers and the amps. do you know where they are?I really appreciate your genuine help. Now what do you mean passive? Is the HU passive or active?
Thanks a lot man!
Now I know that loud is very relative, and that each person is into something else. My HU goes to a max of 33ish and I find myself listening to it around 24-26 while cruising to work in the morning with the windows down. For some reason the mids just dont seem that loud. I set the gain on the amps w/ 3/4 HU volume and I feel that at that volume it should be unbearable regardless of the person because that is where I tuned everything to.
I have a PDX-5 (I know I changed my mind after I purchased it that I was not going to run subs off of it) rated at 101x4 on the birthsheet
JL VR600csi 6.5 components up front and TR600cxi in the rear.
What can I do to make it louder...looking back I chose the wrong speakers but is the amp loud enough?
Is it normal to listen to 24ish out of 28(where I set gains at) and it still not be THAT loud?
I wish I had someone to compare to...non of my friends have a system.
The stock system in my 93 legend w/ BOSE stereo seems louder.
OH, BTW, my installer used 20 gauge speaker wire.
Thanks in advance!
Oh yea my HU is a Kenwood DDX712
Is that sarcastic? You still haven't took your car back and complained? Didn't you pay **** near 600 dollars?
Is that sarcastic?
Yes I did pay $600
i wouldnt call it sarcastic. 600 bucks to install some stuff it should of been tuned, should of been done with a little better wire, and they should of returned the wire they didnt use that you supplied. Is that sarcastic?
Yes I did pay $600
Yes it sounds better with loudness on. DDX712 to be exact.http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=324326
I'm going off of that. I still say you should take it back and have them rewire the doors with something heavier. But more than likely it will cost you some more money. Do you have a loudness on the HU? Alpine I believe right?
Yea the gain's werent even set correctly. The gain on my other m850 which used to be power my subs was at max...giving them a totally clipped signal!i wouldnt call it sarcastic. 600 bucks to install some stuff it should of been tuned, should of been done with a little better wire, and they should of returned the wire they didnt use that you supplied.
for 600 bucks if i wasnt completely satisfied thered be some problems.
