Hey all, I finally got tired of having three subs in my room, so I decided to give my PS2/Xbox stereo a subwoofer instead. Driver is a Mach 5 MAW12, which you've probably seen before as I've had two of 'em since within a week of them coming on the market //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Anyway, build is 1.5 cubes tuned to 33hz. That tuning might be a little off since I didn't account for the batting inside, but oh well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Pixxors:

Wood cut and ready. Wait, why 7 pieces you ask? You'll see //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

10 minutes (75 actually //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif ) later....

The white stuff in the cutout is paper towel that got caught when I was lining up the flush mount baffle (didn't want glue on my nice and cheap as **** rubber gasket)

Makin sure everything fits....

Oh! So that's what they're for! Not glued yet though.

Curing time.....is here.....

The aftermath of my destruction

That's all for now. The ports are still curing (gorilla glue has its uses, believe it or not), and the feet are still drying, but it's pretty much done. A nice finish sanding and it'll be ready to fire up. Eventually I will paint it so that it doesn't stand out as much, but I don't have enough time to do that until the summer.....so I won't do it until the summer.

Comments/questions are welcome and encouraged (as long as you're not frosty bragging about his Adire sub)

Wierd. Your garage looks like my garage. So do your sawhorses and tools. :p

It looks good though.

How do you like those orange HD clamps? I bought one to try. I wanted to see if anything fails (bar arcing, threads, grip, etc). Have you had any troubles with them?

I have had a 2 of the clamps (I started out thinking I only needed 2 clamps to make a box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif) since midsummer 2004, so yes, they're very good quality.

And yep, my garage has a drain hole. Notice that it's wet inside right now because it was raining and my dad's car was wet. Just imagine when it's snowing too, you don't want that snow falling off and just sitting there stagnant. Also it makes it easy to clean out the garage as well in the spring. Just hose down and sweep the water towards the middle. The other garage doors have them as well.

HOLY SHIT, I just hooked it up (that's why there are no pics yet, I just got wrapped up in the audition //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif), and it's almost transparent with the rest of the setup. Playing Madden 08, you can seriously feel when you get tackled. It's great. Pics in about an hour when I finish my game //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
