My Last Amp Thread, Gotta Get It Right

Not a waste, but not full potential for sure... 2 x 18" BL's would be great on a single 3000, but better with 2 x 1500D's... I have customer in Florida doing just that, 2 x SAZ-1500D on 2 x Fi BL 18's... Also have another customer in Tenn with 2 x 18" BTL's doing a single 3000D. All this in the last 30 days... Geezzz Fi must be selling lots of subs these days.....

to me a btl with less then 2.5k + is waste of sub

He can always add more, but 3kw+ daily is honestly almost to much for daily, I would bet with a decent box he would be mid 140's and that is stupid for daily.

LOL, all depends on where your from.... Around here (Houston and TX in General) 150+ dailys are a common thing, your not "cool" unless you are in the 150's daily on music.... LOL... glad it's NOT my ears in those rides....

we have a bunch of fi down here i actually owned the first production 2nd gen btl last year around early october.... we got a guy over here that has 2 18btls in an s10-with 2 saz3000d' and he does 152.X @39 hz sealed @ the dash TL.......

another has 2 12's 2nd gen in a matrix 148.9 off of 2 t20001bd's they take the power fine............its about the voltage in my opinion the btl will take 3k daily easily if its clean power.....

yea we have some systems that have been in the 150's foryears but only now are they becomeing more common oahu is big but small..... that is why I know almost eeryone with sundown and FI on this island.....lol

should be mean.......sometime i wish hawaii wasnt in the ocean.....lol but we have pretty good gatherings and a variety of sounds....last comp had 50 people enter.....including an "extreme" van who pulled a 164.7 with 1/2 his normal power...

also remember, they are powering 2 12s before I get my 18s in a few months. hmm. Would 1 amp be better? I dont think my car could ever handle 3 or 4 1500s

Hehe... yep... That build is gonna be a "holy mother of god daily" build... We are still undecided 16V or 14V system... Gonna tune it down low for decent sound, not a 1 note wonder, it's a demo vehicle more than a comp vehicle... if we wanted comp we'd go CRX or something like that to make a 1 note wonder car out of....

1 3000 will move 2 x BTL 18's... but it would be SO much better with 2....

yup and that is why i say if you wanna run 1 3000d it would be better suited with 2 fi Q's or re sx's...........

Wait, I wanna run 2 3000s, but is it too much, could my car not handle it? Im not sure about 4 1500s, but I could do 2 3000s. should i? what about 1 big amp? better? This is still just daily remember! I'm just passionate about my noise.

If you want LOUD go with the 2 x 3000D's and 2 18" BTL's... If you want nice, and pretty ****ed loud too, go with 1 x 3000 or 2 x 1500 and 2 Fi BL's, I am not sure if the Q's could handle it...

Holy crap if this is a 16v build, can we say 10kw of sick Sundown power?

Note:

Power Output at Maximum Volume before Protection:

67.4 volts

77.1 amps

5196 watts

Power supply voltage was 16.5 volts at rest dropping to around 14.5 volts.

Our clamp meter ran out of steam at 400 amps so we measured efficiency at lower levels:

3294 watts @ 84% efficiency (252 amps draw)

3938 watts @ 81% efficiency (316 amps draw)

4424 watts @ 74% efficiency (392 amps draw)
