my job and the pay the offer...

and to matt or whatever, im not a spoiled little *****, i realize im lucky to have what i have, but this isnt the first crooked shit my boss has pulled
okay, then its your own ****ed fault at this point...if im getting shit on, i dont stick around...

and how is the guy who pays you, telling you to do something...crooked?

if that is the case I would have walked out, on the other hand though.....you chose to do it.
as ive said i dont really wanna lose the job cuz i enjoy the daily work, just cant see how employers get away with making a kid work in unsanitary conditions without the proper safety gear. not really *****in bout the work.

there's been numerous times where me and some other co-workers had to come on a off day and clean out the compactor and the area outside it so corporate wouldnt ***** us out the next day when they came...and that shit is gross and I was still getting payed the same..

im searching the news paper sunday //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i dont mind doing dirty work if the pay is fair for it. or i was even given WARNING that it may have to be done at any other normal job.

i dont do it on a daily basis, but its a regular thing where i HAVE to stay 45 minutes past my scheduled time period because i have to make up for others slack.
As I said, this is life. Not everything is going to be perfect for you. Until you are the boss, then I think you are rightfully under the control of your employer. Now if he starts having you clean the toilets, THEN there may be a problem.

And also, you say that we dont understand your parents? You're in college, what is there to understand about them?

Quit whining. So you had to work in mud, so what. I shoveled shit in a horse barn for 4 years, starting in 8th grade for $6 an hour. It was even during winter half the year too. I'ts not like he asks you to do this everyday. So what if you have to do a little extra work once in a while.

Write that down on your time card. You should get paid for it, if you don't. And if you don't get paid for it, don't work.

Side note - I'm scheduled to work from 8-4:30 at my job and we can't work past 4:30, otherwise the state would have to pay me overtime on a part time job and they don't want to do that.

You're lucky. The Navy Exchange feels the same way, so I just wouldn't get paid for my boss "asking" me to help after my shift was over. I didn't have a problem with it though, because I knew what needed to be done, and I did it.

saywhat, i know what you are going through, because ive went through it. I worked at a carwash for 2 years. I've done the same thing you have-clean out the pit. But evernight that i had to close, I had to wait untill after we had actually closed to cleanup. We would close at 9, and i would often be there untill at least 9:30. I also started at $6.00. But we had this program called gainsharing. It was based on sales, labor, and hours. If we had more sales then labor in a given month, then we got to split up the money. The more you made hourly, and the more hours you got, the more money you got from them. With this "gainsharing" program, i averaged at about 8.00 an hour for the month. Our busy time was in the winter, so during then i often averaged about 10.00. While i was there i had received 2 raises. The first raise was the biggest raise that any high school student had recieved at $.40. My next raise was a whopping $.10. The first year i busted my *** at work, came in for other people, was always 10-15 minutes early for my shift, rarely missed work, and I had become my managers first choice to call if somebody had come in sick. If i were you, i would ask for something like a

$.25 raise. But dont just go up to your manager and be like: Damit! I want a raise. You need to have a clear mind, get him at a slow point of the day, and tell him the reasons why you deserve a raise. If that doesnt work, then tell him your going to find a better job. If he doesnt give you a raise after you give him factual reasons and such then its not worth working there.
