My installation progress!

Hey everyone, I wanted to share pictures of the install Tplaya07 and I are working on in my car. The box is 3/4" MDF with two plexiglass windows. There's a bezel on the front and back of it to build it into the trunk. The box when finished will house 2 10" CDT HD1020's. Let me know what you think!!!

is that green thing wire shielding?

since they are facing the trunk, how will they sound? you are making a bezel for each side, cutting it from the cabin, is your trunk ported to your cabin? i dunno how loud thats gonna get. let us know.

since they are facing the trunk, how will they sound? you are making a bezel for each side, cutting it from the cabin, is your trunk ported to your cabin? i dunno how loud thats gonna get. let us know.

-Yes, I am using Van Gogh amps, a 320.4 and a 800.2.

-The box is painted an almond color inside. The outside of the box, bezel, as well as the rack will be carpeted.

-The green wire is 4 channel Monster Cable speaker wire.

-The common consensus among other 3 series owners who have trunk setups say it sounds better with the subs facing the rear. My car came stock with the HK system, which uses dual 6x9's as the subwoofer which attach to the deck. When removed, there are two holes in the metal that the sound from the new subs will be able to pass through.

-Yes, there will be a bezel for both the front of the rear.

**** kid!!!!! HOT. Amazing job. I wish I would have thought about that plexi glass in the back. great idea. Is there any easy way I can do that, I built my box over the weekend but I left the top off.

And can you expain what your doing with the amps? I wanted to put my on the trunk floor but have them flush with the floor. If your doing that also could you explain some details on how to do it?

How thick of plexiglass are you using. You might get a little flexing making it sound like craphole.

Just an FYI. It is a common consensus that in most cars with tunks (not hatches) is that the subs will be louder and sound better with them facing the rear. Just thought i would point that out for the sake of other people reading this thread. I am not doggin on you just informing other people also.

i just brought that up monte because he is isolating the subs from the cab with the beauty panels. thats all.

but yes, subs facing rear = better (in general)
