my friends lookin for a new system

well my friend is lookin for a new system to replace his 12" alpine type r's, he's looking for 1 - 15" or 2 - 12" subwoofers, he's tired of the alpines because he says they hit hard but he finds that they have no clarity to them so i said hmm why not ask the guys on the car audio forums, they should know best so he needs something that hits hard but clean, so if you have any exp. w/ a sub like this let me know he listens to alot of rap if that helps i was thinking possibly a RE xxx 15" ? but i never heard one so i don't know.. thanks in advance though

what kind of amp does he have? what kind of box are those subs in? budget? i listen to rap and a sub that comes to mind that i have used is the soundsplinter rl-p.

I think the problem is with his box, not his subs. Type R's hit hard and sound clean doing it.

that's what i told him he's got some mtx amp its puttin out like 1500 watts or something i haven't looked at it (this is what he says) and its tuned down ect ect. but yeah i tried to get him to switch to a ported box, and he was like blah blah i want new subs lol, he was gonna get 2 13w7's and i was like =O crazy money so i'm trying to get him something less, say we get a new amp 2 subs + pay someone to build + ship box? total 1.5k or so but it's up to him (stupid rich kids and their parents had to pay for my own system lol)
