My First Setup...Need Opinions/Suggestions

Here's the deal:

Car: 2000 Toyota Celica GTS

Current Setup: Bone stock

What I'm Looking To Put in the Car:

-Alpine SPX-17PROs (front speakers)

-Alpine SWX-1043D (sub)

-Alpine PDX-1.1000 (amp to power sub)

-Alpine PDX-4.150 (amp to power speakers)

-Alpine IVA-W505 (head unit)

So my questions are as follows:

-I'd like to put in some rear aftermarket speakers as well, but i'm not sure what to go with. I'd like to keep it Alpine (since everything else is Alpine), so if there are any suggestions, let it be Alpine.

-If i do add those rear speakers, will the PDX-4.150 be enough for both the front and rear speakers? Any other suggestions amp-wise?

-I'm looking to do a sealed enclosure for the sub. Is there any reason to use a ported enclosure?

-What sorts of wiring will I be needing? What brands, sizes, etc. do you suggest?

Any and all input is appreciated. If I missed anything at all, I would be grateful if you would mention so. Thanks a lot guys!

is there any real reason your staying with alpine? Ported enclosures allow more output from your subwoofer (more bass). For the money your paying for some of this alpine stuff, you could get better equipment or spend less and achieve the same quality.

X2 on the brand...... lots of other companies out there to consider..... aside from that look to KnuKonceptz for your wiring, they have everything you need at good prices....

look at a 1/0 dual amp kit for your amps, comes with 1/0 guage wire to run back to ur trunk, a distro and 4 guage to go to the amps.... clean and easy

and just pick up some extra speaker wire for the runs back to the front

i'm looking to spend no more than 1200 for everything (not including the headunit). what i'm looking to get out of my setup, well i am definitely looking for quality. not especially looking for something booming, but a single 10" sub and some quality speakers. definitely want some quality wiring also.

SPX17Pro's are very nice if you can get them for a decent price.

KNU has good wire kits and reasonable prices.

I have a 12w3 in a sealed enclosure and an ported 10" Aura if you're interested. I'm up by Six Flags and you're welcome to come and try them out before buying. PM me if interested...

mlstrass - i read here that you do custom enclosures, is that right? if things change with my current setup and i decide to take a look at your subs, i will pm you. if not, I will be pm'ing you anyway about a custom enclosure for my sub in my celi. i have a feeling we'll be seeing each other fairly soon.

I have two 10" type r's with an enclosure for sale. May even let my Soundstream 1700w amp go with it for right price.

It sounds to me like you're buying from a dealer.

Save your money and buy used equipment on here. Most of the users here are aware of how to properly wire/power subs so you arent getting beat up junk.

Anyways, shoot me a PM. My equipment is WELL within your price range and louder than the items listed.

I am really only looking for a single 10" as my car really isn't the biggest thing in the world. and no, i am not buying from a dealer. in fact i was planning on buying my entire setup (except for wiring) off of here, used. but thanks for the offer, especially since you're local. would've made things a bit easier.

The 2 10"'s are actually in a small sealed enclosure.

Width is only 30" and height/depth are only about 13".

Would sound great off about 1000w.

Just trying to make things simple due to locations.

Im thinking about parting with them to go louder.

Stang - I will definitely keep you in mind. after all, i am looking for a used setup (or at least one at a used price). i'll keep you updated with my sub situation.

Redline - i'm really looking to go at least 1.1000. i feel like i'd be skimping if i went any lower than that. but if i decide on a different sub, i will also let you know.

Sounds good. My suggestion would be to go with another sub as others have suggested. Alpine is good however when you buy their subs you pay the premium for their advertising. Look into brands such as Image Dynamics, RE Audio, Fi Audio, and a couple others. You'll get more for your money that way.

i suggest getting another vehicle.. i have a 2002 celica, hate it for systems of anykind.
