Hi all...
I have a 2004 Toyota Highlander with a stupid stock system (stupid because it has a tape deck!) with JL Audio speakers. I researched headunits and the one I really like is the Pioneer AVH-P3200BT. I know they came out with a newer model, but I still like this one (and it's cheaper).
I then find out that I need to change out my speakers because the JL Audio speakers are not compatible?
So I decided to change everything and this is what I came up with:
Head Unit: Pioneer AVH-P3200BT
Amp for speakers: Pioneer GM-6400F
Amp for sub: JL Audio 300/2 (i already have this from an older car that's just sitting around)
Front speakers: Pioneer TS-A1684R
Back speakers: Pioneer TS-A1604C
Sub: (unknown at this time because it's not with me, but it worked with my JL Audio Amp)
I made a nice little diagram for myself as i do to not like to start a project without a solid footing of what I'm going to do. If you want to see it, you can download it here: hotfile.com/dl/97531155/289ba4d/Build.pdf.html
I made this diagram before I read that I can use one wire to power both amps.
So here are my questions:
1. Do I need an amp for my door speakers or does the HU have enough power to make this sound okay?
1a. If I do need/want the amp for the door speakers, and the JL Audio 300/2 amp does not have a fuse, do I use a Power Distribution Block with a fuse in it? And if so, how big of a fuse do I use?
2. The stock system has tweeters in it, but according to any wire diagram, I do not see where these tweeters are getting their sound from. Where is it coming from?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you for reviewing my post!
