not that anyone would care but i'd like some feed back...

well, i used 3/4" mdf... and made it as close to the 2.5sqft @30 hz on the RE site as i could...

my grandpa nailed it together, but every nail split the mdf...? we used some strong wood glue and two blocks and a c-clamp on most of them... would using screws been better?

but this thing looks huge! i guess it's just me because all my friends have smaller sealed enclosures...

has/is anyone else made/running this setup with an se12? the only reason i ask is because its going to take me a little while to get my sub and amp (waiting on dad to send money)...

oh, and just to make sure... the se12 cutout diameter is 11.125 (11 1/8) right... i know that's what it says on the site, but i'd rather have a human verify before i cut the hole out...

another thing, is it bad to run your wires through the port, or should i buy a external connector and put that in my box too?

i'd really appreciate it...

Uh pics?

What kind of nails did he use? If nailing use a finish nail gun or use small fininsh nails by hand. Or use screws, but pre drill.

What are the dimensions? again with the pics

Not sure about the cut out

For speaker wire, drill 2 small holes, just big enough for a wire to fit through and then seal it up the holes...

i will take and post pics tomorrow... well, my grandpa has done a lot of construction in his life and builds stuff out of wood a lot, so i told him the material and i guess he knew what he was doing...

not sure what kind of nails, but it did split the mdf... thats why i used the glue in the cracks and clamped it back together to try and get rid of the splits...

i think it will be ok with the glue and i will use some silicon caulk or whatever he has to seal it...

ill get the pics tomorrow so you can see if i just messed up or if its just me...

I believe that that port is going to be a problem. The begining part of the port inside on the back area is way to wide compared to the end of port.

I'm not sure of the tuning or the correct length that it should be or what you want it to be but....see picture.
