make new box the right way. Not trying to be a dick, but that would be best, however, If you want to try, change the port. Make your box look exactly like the picture you provided.a: make port longer...
b: make box shorter...
what will sound better?
Roughly I figure to get 35hz with those dimensions the enclosure will end up being 2.3 ft^3 with a port of 12x3x33 that's assuming the sub displaces .15ft^3well since it is a rough 4.2, and the port width needs to be the same on the side and the back, wouldn't making the depth (23.5 to ~15) of the box shorter solve the port problem and the cuft problem?
just a thought, i respect you decision to make a new one, but my grandpa bought the wood for me and hauled it... and basically did the majority of the work for me... i already told him we need to make the back closer to the port and he said fine... i sure would hate to tell him we need to start over...
basically, if i did move the back in... then it would follow nearly the same specs as the other 12" box specs on the re site... (36" x 15" x 13.5") @ 35hz... i wouldn't mind a little more spl...
what do you think?
move it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifthats good right? not too much spl, and decent sq considering the driver... im going to go ahead and move the back... take in mind i do not know much about this stuff so if you'd advise me not to do it then nows the time...
thanks for your help man...
